HYPE ISLAND
HYPE ISLAND
The 3x3 part of the series is where we pick 3 players/teams on your Hype Island, Buzz Talk, and The Watch list. Hype Island consists of players and/or teams that you think should be getting more hype. Buzz talk is players and/or teams that you are buying their buzz. The Watch list are players and/or teams that you are keeping your eye on. The ones you think the season and/or future of the league can be defined by these players or teams.
Players and/or teams that you think should be getting more hype. They could be teams you think are playoff contenders but aren’t getting the respect they deserve. They could be players you are banging the table for. Or they could be position groups or sides of the ball that you think will dominate this year. Players who were on my MVP, DMVP, ROTY, or DROTY list were not considered for this category.
1) Seattle Seahawks Team
Seattle has an elite secondary, a DL with depth, a good run game, and a pass game that compliments itself. Seattle will be a sleeper this year. The NFC West is getting older and they are a little banged up. Seattle has shifted resources to the DL and has an offense that fits what the OL wants to do. They are built upfront. Darnold has shown he can run Kubiaks offense. This all trends towards a better than predicted season.
2) Atlanta Falcons Team
I was one of few people pounding the table for Penix last year. When you don’t have a QB sometimes you gotta force the situation. When you see something you love, especially at QB, sometimes you just gotta go for it. Same thing with a pass rush. Especially when you’ve gone years without one. Atlanta saw enough to go all in on offense and defense. I think it will pay off for them. Raheem Morris is a great coach.
3) Indianapolis Colts Offense
This may be my biggest prediction of the year. I am not sure if Indianapolis will be a good team. What I do know is Shane Steichen is a great offensive coach. He has had production with some mediocre QBs. In 2023 the Colts had the 11th most yards on offense and in 2024 they had the 13th most yards on offense. Jonathan Taylor is a star RB and Steichen has barely been able to use him. He has comparable traits to Saquan, who Steichen coached in Philly. Warren might compliment Taylor really well. Jones is uber talented and fits the mold of a QB Steichen had in Philly. I'm excited to see what Steichen can do in a desperate year.
