The 3x3 part of the series is where we pick 3 players/teams on your Hype Island, Buzz Talk, and The Watch list. Hype Island consists of players and/or teams that you think should be getting more hype. Buzz talk is players and/or teams that you are buying their buzz. The Watch list are players and/or teams that you are keeping your eye on. The ones you think the season and/or future of the league can be defined by these players or teams. Who is your 3x3?
Players and/or teams that you are buying their buzz. They could be teams you think are getting enough buzz and you are buying all of it. They could be players you agree will be breakout stars. They could also be a position group or a side of the ball that you agree will be a top 5 group. Players who were on my MVP, DMVP, ROTY, or DROTY list were not considered for this category.
1) Denver Broncos Team
My biggest buzz this year is the Denver Broncos. I love the defense, but I think Bo is what makes them go this year. The secondary is suffocating. They stop passing juggernauts in their tracks. It is impressive in today's passing game. They had the DMVP last year at CB and added a first round pick to the secondary. My only worry is the depth along the DL. The offense should click in Bo’s second year. They added talent that fits Sean Payton's offense. This team could explode this year.
2) New England Patriots
Vrabel has proven he has a unique NFL mind. The AFC isn’t super deep this year. There are a lot of question marks in the AFC this year. I think this helps a team like NE who is young but talented and coached well. They might benefit from a weak AFC West (besides Buffalo). I predict they start strong and struggle to end the season. Ultimately finishing with a record good enough to make the playoffs.
3) Los Angeles Rams Pass Rush
The Rams have a legit pass rush. Jared Verse and Branden Friske create a diverse pass rush that will last for years. It is one of the reasons why I think even with a Stafford injury they could be scary. Puca is one of the best WR in the league. If the team stays healthy they will be a SuperBowl contender. The entire defense will be scary. The only thing I worry about is the secondary.
