  • This was my Watch List going into the 2025 season. These were the players and/or teams that I was keeping my eyes on. The ones I thought the season and/or future of the league could have been defined by. I’ll dig into each one and talk about how they did and if they were deserving of my list. If you want my reasons for picking these you can go back to my 2025 Watch List

    Stafford Health (QB LAR)

Going into the season I thought if Stafford stayed healthy they would contend for the Superbowl. Well he won the MVP and was one game away from the Superbowl. More than likely he will be on my Watch List going into the 2026 season for the exact same reason. Stafford performs McVays offense at an elite level and it’ll be tough to stop in 2026.

    Detroit Lions Coordinators

We saw how much the Philadelphia Eagles struggled losing their coordinators after the Superbowl 57 loss. Detroit lost 8 coaches in the 2025 off-season. Two of those were their coordinators. This was not talked about enough. Can good teams keep their coaches? That should be discussed way more than it is.

    Bryce Young Improving

I knew no matter what this would be a big season for the Carolina Panthers and Bryce Young. Either Carolina was going to know if they had something in Bryce, or they were likely going to move on. He has always shown moments but always struggled to put it together. I always wondered if that was more poor coaching and lack of leadership and direction in the front office. 2026 will be another big season for Bryce Young.

  • This was my Buzz Talk going into the 2025 season. These are players and/or teams that was getting buzz and I was buying all of it. I’ll dig into each one and talk about how they did and if they were deserving of my list. If you want my reasons for picking these you can go back to my 2025 Buzz Talk

    Denver Broncos Team

All off-season I heard people talking about the Denver Broncos. They had the #1 defense the year before and their rookie QB played very well. They added some talent on the offensive side of the ball that I thought fit what Sean Payton wanted to do. I was counting on Bo Nix to have a breakout sophomore season under Payton, and with their defense I was expecting them to contend for the division. In my predictions I had them winning the division but losing to Kansas City in the divisional round. So they did better than I expected.

    New England Patriots

New England was another team that a lot of people were talking about going into the season. Some were skeptical, but a lot saw the additions, the new leadership in the building, and the schedule and saw a chance for a playoff berth. I think very few saw a #2 seed and a Superbowl appearance. Another team that did better than I expected.

    Los Angeles Rams Pass Rush

The Rams were 7th in sacks and 19th in pass defense. There were also 12th in rush defense. That leads me to believe the front 7 of the Rams is doing a pretty solid job but wants’t being backed by their secondary enough. Overall, I thought they did alright but I was expecting them to be more of a force going into the season. Maybe adding reinforcements to the secondary will help the front 7 even more.

  • This was my Hype Island going into the 2025 season. These were players and/or teams that I thought should have gotten more hype going into the season. They could have been teams I thought were playoff contenders but aren’t getting the respect they deserved. Or they could have been players I was banging the table for or position groups/sides of the ball that I thought would dominate. I’ll dig into each one and talk about how they did and if they were deserving of my list. If you want my reasons for picking these you can go back to my 2025 Hype Island

    Seattle Seahawks Team

Going into the season I thought Seattle upgraded at QB. They moved on from a WR that was demanding targets and allowed JSN to take over that role. That led to him winning the offensive player of the year on a team that was 4th in rushing attempts. Seattle also had a top 5 defense. The additions of Kupp added leadership to the locker room. They also added key rookie additions in Grey Zabel and Nick Emmanwori.

    Atlanta Falcons Team

Atlanta was 6th in team interceptions, while Xavier Watts was tied for second with 5 interceptions. They were second in total sacks. The passing game was in the bottom half of the league. Bijan was still 4th in rushing yards and 8th in rushing yards as a team. They need to defend the run better as they gave up the 9th most rushing yards this year. If they can get better defending the run and get better QB play I expect them to do better next year. I was maybe a year too early here.

    Indianapolis Colts Offense

The Colts finished 8th in PPG and 9th in total passing yards. Jonathan Taylor finished 3rd in rushing yards. Tyler Warren was 5th in receiving yards among TE as a rookie. Warren will only get better and Shane Steichen will only continue to learn how to get him more involved. If Daniel Jones stays healthy I think they contend for a top 5 offense and a division title.

  • All of my top 5 offenses and defenses going into the season were based on PPG averages. Or what I thought their PPG would be. Below I will put what my prediction was vs what they actually placed. I will also show my awards predictions vs who actually won them. As well as my Superbowl prediction. Predictions here
